Our mission is to bridge the gap between expensive hearing aids and affordable alternatives by leveraging innovative technology to create thoughtful, inclusive audio experiences that empower individuals to better engage with the world around them.
We are developing groundbreaking solutions that transform standard iOS headphones into premium hearing aid alternatives, emulating advanced technologies like CROS (Contralateral Routing of Signals) and Bilateral CROS (BiCROS) systems. By making these sophisticated hearing solutions accessible and affordable, we are committed to improving quality of life and fostering greater social inclusion for individuals with hearing loss. More About Us
Our founder, Melissa Burns, is newly single sided deaf. After needing urgent brain surgery to remove a huge acoustic neuroma in 2024, Melissa woke up to a new world. Her previous invisible privilege of having two working ears suddenly became apparent. Though she was able to adjust and adapt, there was one consistent frustration: there is a complete lack of CROS and BiCROS options available. Even more frustrating, the options available are expensive and don't deliver consistently across users. Though we are aware that each person experiences hearing loss differently, our goal is to present an innovative app. Ideally, these sophisticated hearing solutions should be accessible and affordable for anyone interested in using them. We want to educate and share our innovations with everyone. Because noise is just that until you experience Aura Tone.

Our flagship app transforms standard iOS headphones into premium hearing aid solutions, emulating advanced technologies like CROS and BiCROS systems. Coming in 2027, this innovative solution makes sophisticated hearing technology accessible and affordable. Experience an emulation of BiCROS and CROS technology through our app. Specifically designed for individuals with single-sided deafness or moderate to severe hearing loss. This solution routes sound from the deaf or hard of hearing side to the better hearing side, enabling better spatial awareness and communication. Our innovative app transforms standard headphones into affordable hearing aid solutions, to provide premium audio experiences at a fraction of traditional hearing aid costs.
